Malvern is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 8Â km south-east of Melbourne’s Central Business District, located within the City of Stonnington local government area. Malvern recorded a population of 9,929 at the 2021 census.
The area of Malvern was first settled by Europeans in 1835.
John Gardiner was one of its first European settlers. A small hamlet known as “Gardiners Creek” (1851 Melbourne Postal Directory) was settled, but it diminished with the gold rush. The nearby creek was also named Gardiners Creek. Gardiners Creek Road (now Toorak Road) ran from South Yarra, east to the junction of Gardiners Creek and onto the Gardiner Homestead, which is now the site of Scotch College.
In the 1860s the Gardiners Creek Roads Board was the forerunner of the Gardiners Creek Shire that then became Malvern Council.
Malvern Post Office opened on 1 January 1860 on Glenferrie Road, near Malvern Road. In 1892 this was renamed Malvern North when a new Malvern office on Glenferrie Road, near Wattletree Road, replaced the Malvern railway station office.
The then shire hall (later town hall) was built in 1886, on the corner of Glenferrie Road and High Street and later extended.

Every standard cleaning service that we do is a whole house clean covering all areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge & living rooms, laundry. You can choose to include add-ons to your clean such as oven cleaning, cleaning inside the fridge, and carpet cleaning and a range of other add-ons. Feel free to leave additional notes in your account during checkout, or contact us to provide instructions for the cleaners.
In our booking form you can select to remove rooms from the clean if you don't want them included.
If your house is 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms select this initially, then tick the Part House Cleaning Only check box. You can then choose areas of your house you want to remove from the service.
No you don't need to be home during the service.
Some customers do like to be home for the whole clean, some prefer to meet their cleaning professional first then get them to lock up when they are done.
As long as our cleaners have clear instructions on how to gain access into your home, we will take care of the rest. Many of our customers prefer to schedule their clean during the workday, so they can come home to a sparkling clean house.
There are no lock in contracts with Sparkle and Shine. You are free to cancel or reschedule whenever you want so long as it's not within 48 hours of a booking.
Last minute cancellations and reschedules cause our cleaning professionals to lose valuable work hours. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fees.
For your convivence all our cleaning teams brings their own equipment and eco-friendly cleaning supplies. If you’d prefer we use any particular cleaning products, feel free to inform us and we’ll use any products you leave out.
